The traditional coffee table book has become much more personal over the years. Now offering personalized, custom “story books” for any or all milestones in your life.  One of my favorite wedding guest book ideas are the well wisher/message books.  One idea better is a message book with pictures!

A wedding guest book that’s really a photo album or scrapbook is usually available through a photographer.  Or simply make one yourself and bring it on your big day. Be sure to leave space for guest comments!  “Our Story” or “Our Romance” are popular theme ideas for choosing and arranging photos that you will use in your ”wedding guest book”.

As a new bride-to-be you’re probably constantly receiving advice from friends, family, magazines, professionals and even strangers…everyone telling you how they think you should spend this special milestone in your life.

I’m always very impressed if not often overwhelmed by all the available wedding accessories.  I’m not just talking about the many styles for your guest book, ring bearer pillow or bridal garter – I’m talking the “extras”.  From parasols to flip flops that spell out “Just Married” in the sand.

What Wedding Accessories

Most brides-to-be don’t need help when choosing their style of wedding accessories.  It’s like many other aspects of the wedding planning process, often times when you see the perfect one; you just know.  However, there are a few tips when it comes to wedding accessories.

Wedding accessories consist of items needed for the ceremony, such as flower girl baskets, ring bearer pillow, unity candle and may include bridal and wedding party jewelry.  Wedding accessories also refers to items needed at the reception, such as the bridal toss garter, a wedding cake top and knife server set.  Find a comprehensive list and decide what items you’ll have on your day.  Also, be sure to choose and order your wedding accessories three to six months in advance of your wedding day.  If an item is custom, handmade or will be personalized, be sure to allow a little extra time.

Monogram Design Ring Bearer Pillows

Contemplating the style of your ring bearer’s pillow?  Should it coordinate with your other wedding accessories or stand alone?  How old is your ring bearer and what is the style of your wedding?  Will it be difficult for you to convince the young man to march down the aisle with something frilly and girlie?

All ring bearer pillows serve the same purpose but there are thousands to choose from (assuming you don’t decide to make your own!).  Whether you have a “monogram” wedding or not, a monogram ring bearer pillow may be a nice choice that can be as simple or elaborate as you like.  Pictured are three examples of monogrammed ring bearer pillows.

Coordinating Accessories with Any Theme

There are probably hundreds of theme-inspired wedding accessories and even more theme ideas.  If you are creating a unique theme for your wedding day, (for instance, a “Vintage” or “Fairy Tale” theme) don’t become dissapointed if you can’t find a collection that includes everything you’ll need on your wedding day.

Look for your primary pieces.  The items that will really showcase your theme.  Then choose simple, subtle or neutral items that will not seem out of place for your theme.  Remember to stick to the same color scheme.  For instance a lovely creme and lacy flower girl basket would coordinate quite well with the above pictured “Vintage” bride.

Message Pens Unique Wedding Favors

These wedding style “greeting” pens aren’t new.  They’ve been around for several years and there are now hundreds of styles.  Personalize these unique “click for message” pens with your names, wedding date, but most cleverly- your own wedding day message.

These pens make unique wedding favors, but I’ve also seen them given to guests in many unique ways.  Of course they’re just as lovely with ribbon tied around them and placed on reception tables.  A very popular place to put these pens is at the registry table.  Guests can sign in and keep the pen!

Have A Unique Day with Colorful Wedding Accessories

With the clever wedding ideas popping up everywhere it makes me want to get married over and over again! But I’ll just enjoy the anniversary parties and have a mock wedding when we renew our vows every five years!

Seriously though, to the Brides-to-be, enjoy the planning process and the day of even more!  It truly is a life experience you shouldn’t do without.  Have the wedding of YOUR dreams (I mean, you and your fiance’) The best part is that clever ideas exist for any budget.  The originality available with color schemes alone is enough to make your heart beat faster!  No more boring white wedding accessories, or wedding dress for that matter!  (How about this green veil?!)  The most important part is that you enjoy this time in your life no matter how much time you have to plan or what amount your wedding budget is.

There’s nothing quite like seeing your names printed on invitations, engraved on wedding accessories and even embossed on your unity candle for the wedding ceremony.  I just have one piece of advice in regards to personalization – check the spelling once, twice and even three times!

Many wedding shops will not allow you to return personalized items. So check and double check accuracy before submitting your order. (If the misspelling is the shops mistake it should not cost you anything to havethe item(s) replaced.  Also, be sure to allow enough time between your event and ordering personalized items.  It generally takes longer to process personalized items as it is, but heaven forbid you need enough time to have them redone!  There are so many beautiful wedding items that can be personalized aside from your wedding invitations - your unity candle, wedding favors, bridal jewelry and wedding ceremony accessories.

Pearls for the Bride, Wedding Accessories and Decor

Pearls are a popular choice for wedding day bridal jewelry, but for some brides, pearls are  a large part of their wedding day theme.  Decorative pearls on wedding accessories such as the ring bearer’s pillow, flower girl basket, even the couples unity candle display.

I believe that it’s because of this that “pearls” have begun to show up on other wedding items as well.  Pictured here are faux pearl adorned candle favors for wedding or shower guests.  (Or use them for decoration at your wedding ceremony site!)  Pearl-look beads are avilable in any and every color imaginable and have appeared in centerpiece vases and springing from floral arrangements, table confetti and attached to wedding invitations – they add that ever so elegant classy touch to anything around them!
