Your Unity Candle – To Buy or To Make?
Many custom unity candles include attaching your wedding program, invitation or announcement to the front of the candle and then adding such embellishments as pearls, ribbon, bows, foliage, fancy stands or other accessories. Depending on your budget, patience and use for the candle after the big event, you could decorate a pillar candle and turn it into a lovely addition to your wedding ceremony.
One of the most important parts in decorating your own unity candle is how you attach the embellishments to the candle. There are a few different ways based on what you are gluing onto the candle and how long you want it to last. A hot glue gun will work best, especially for the short term event. If you would like your candle decorations to hold up longer it’s best to wrap the candle the entire way around with paper, ribbon or another base. Then glue all your embellishments to that wrapping.
Alternative to Floral Wedding Ceremony Decorations
As a wedding professional I’ve seen it all. Decorators and consultants are always trying new methods of turning a possibly drab area into a romantic setting. Quick and easy setup and even quicker clean up is a bonus! If you are having your ceremony in a beautiful chapel, then atmosphere may not have to be created from scratch as much as say, an open field in the great outdoors.
Floral arrangements are a fairly simple way to create a romantic atmosphere quickly. However, they’re not the only way! Though wedding ceremony decorations do vary a little bit depending on your location, generally the ceremony will take place in a more confined area. Concentrate on this area by having surrounding areas pull you in to it. For instance, use tulle or organza draped around or through pews or awnings to draw attention to the ceremony area. Your budget may determine the amount of extravagance. That’s OK. You don’t want the “alter” area buried. After all, this is a popular setting for pictures. You don’t want your wedding day photos to look cluttered.

A Flower Girl Basket Worth Holding On To
One thing I find a lot of bride’s don’t consider when choosing a flower girl basket is the flower girl that will be carrying out down the aisle. Sure, it’s just for a short period down the aisle, but don’t forget about the time spent the rest of the day and especially the time and comfort of the wedding day photos.
A flower girl basket worth holding on to…shouldn’t be too large or awkward for the little girl that it is intended for. One of the worst type of baskets I’ve seen are the type with flowers or prickly decorations going all around the handle. Where is your poor flower girl suppose to put her hands? And how can a four to eight year old be held responsible for holding onto something heavy or awkward for most of a day taht she should be having fun?
A Fairy Tale Wedding Theme in Spring
Red roses, live birds and nature were the setting for this fairy tale wedding theme. The bride didn’t choose a particular fairy tale story for her theme. Instead she included wedding accessories that pronounced “Happily Ever After” and went with an abundant amount of red and white roses, animal “friends” and lots of whimsy and character.
My favorite part about this fairy tale wedding theme was that she allowed her three flower girls to each choose their favorite fairy tale princess to dress up as. Snow White, Belle and Cinderella were all at this Bride’s event!
The Perfect Wedding Guest Book Idea
My sister has always been the creative kind, so it was no surprise that most of her wedding items were DIY! But one of the things that really stood out for me was how she took a regular white guest book and turned it into a collage of her and her man’s life together and hobbies.
The perfect wedding guest book! This wedding story collage picture frame reminded me of what my sister did and I thought, “what a great way for us not-so-creative types to do the same thing! Display a story for our wedding guests. After all, this is our day!
Fairy Tale Wedding Theme Must Have
“Our Story” multiple opening photo frame, hinged and perfect for table top display! Set it next to your guest book on the registration table or on a table at your reception hall – near the entrance or next to the cake on the cake table.
Beautiful and personal for any wedding or long after, but ideal for a fairy tale wedding. Because what goes better with a fairy tale wedding theme than your own fairy tale story?
