There is a certain iridiscent beauty to crystal. As wedding favors they’re sure to become a fine keepsake. Winter Themed Wedding Favors
If your wedding day is between December and February and you live in a state where it snows then it’s safe to say you’re having a winter wonderland wedding. Your ideal wedding favors will depend on the style, colors or theme chosen for your big day.
One thing is for certain, if your wedding is coming up in the next three months, you’ll want to get your wedding favors ordered as soon as possible! If you have a little more time than that, consider ordering a few favor samples. You can spend hours browsing favors online, but until they are in your hands, you just can’t tell if they’re the perfect ones or not! I suggest choosing two types of wedding favors and alternating them at your tables. This way, you have a better chance of everyone going home happy. Think, one favor a guy will like and one favor for a woman, or something specific for children (if you will have quite a few child guests). The snowflake wine bottle stopper pictured is befitting both women and men guests while this “Sweet Couple-ccino” mocha scented cappuccino candle wedding favor is a favorite among women.
Inexpensive, Creative, Unique Wedding Favors

It’s amazing what ribbon and personalized labels or fun stickers can do for your wedding, both decoratively and inexpensively! It may seem like a large saving to put together your own wedding favors, but often the seemingly low price of each item adds up in the end.
The trick to unique wedding favors at a low price per piece in order to stay within (or under!) your wedding budget, is thinking outside the box. In this case, I’m not talking about favor boxes or tulle bags, but paper cups. Plain white paper cups, roughly the size of dixie cups, some ribbon and either a sticker, personalized label (the labels pictured cost 25 cents or less!) or even a fancy bow made from ribbon wrapped around the candy filled cup, make creative, inexpensive favors.
Vintage or Victorian Wedding Favors

As a wedding planner I see many brides struggle with the decisions that must be made when it comes to their wedding favors. There are so many different, fun, elegant and unique styles out there! It’s easy to get caught up and mixed up over choosing the right ones. Though there are no “right” or “wrong” favor types (afterall, it is your day!) you can narrow favor selection down by the style/theme of your wedding and your favor budget.
Since, it’s so easy to get lost in the world of wedding favors, I have chosen to highlight different favors here in my blog. The other day I pointed out some adorablge gingerbread bride and groom favors. Today, I bring you elegant votive candle favors excellent for a vintage or victorian theme event. Want romantic favors for your wedding guests or bridal shower attendees? Either the pearl rimmed or cameo embellished votive candles may just be the perfect addition.
Unique Wedding Favors for a Holiday Affair

A seasonal wedding presents the opportunity to give “seasonal” favors. While a ribbon wrapped candycane on each plate is very festive, maybe you’re looking for something a bit more inspired?
May I suggest that you invite the gingerbread couple to your wedding? Not only unique wedding favors, but adorable and practical too! There is a varitey of gingerbread bride and groom type favors to choose from. Keyrings, bookmarks, votive candle holders, shaped candles and even the classic cookie cutters. Whatever type of holiday wedding favor that you choose be sure to order as far in advance as possible. The holidays can get a little crazy and with unique favors such as these, they may also sell out quickly!
Simple, Inexpensive, Unique Wedding Favors
If you’re looking for a simple, piece together wedding favor that won’t blow your wedding favor budget but will still have your guests impressed, then consider fun shaped plastic containers. When purchased in bulk, these containers can be as low as 10 cents each!
If the shapes themselves don’t classify them as unique wedding favors, what you can fill them with does! Decorate these wine goblets, margerita or champagne glasses, plastic slippers, butterflies, bells or palm trees to coordinate with your theme. Purchase goodies in bulk such as Jordan Almonds, personalized M & M’s or valentine heart candies and use metallic cellophane, sparkling tulle or theme gossamer to wrap them in. Or if you prefer, a small votive candle inside covered by a wine glass lampshade will create an entirely more elegant look. For an extra special touch, attach wine charms to the stems as a take home momento. I gurantee your wedding guests will love them and they won’t cost you a small fortune!
Wrapping Wedding Favors
Not that there’s anything wrong with prettily wrapping a handful of candy in tulle. After all, edible treats are the most delighted among guests! The idea here though is that the tulle doesn’t have to be plain old white with drab ribbon tied to the top. You can make a bold statement with your favor wrapping and your guests won’t even care what’s inside!
Aside from the fact that you can wrap nearly any type of wedding favors in tulle, and that there are now hundreds ofcolors to choose from, the best part is the available styles of tulle, gossamer, netting and wrap. From metallic shimmer cellophane to silk embroidered satin and lace. And the different ideas on tying it all together? Endless. There’s personalized ribbon, which puts your unique touch on the favor, sparkling bows and hundreds of shaped charms to tie to it. There’s ribbon that can be imprinted with a favorite quote or a saying that ties to your theme, such as “Happily Ever After” or “Today, I Marry My Friend”. (We won’t even mention the millions of artistic, personal or themed favor tags or shaped boxes available!)
Excellent Find for your Cinderella Theme Wedding

Ideal and practical as an inexpensive favor (especially for a larger wedding) but versatile enough to use as decorations and in floral arrangements, this plastic slipper mimics the real thing in a much less breakable way!
Your Cinderella theme wedding needs a glass slipper! Why not make it a unique piece? Something your guests will talk about during and long after your reception. These plastic glass slipper replicas come in sets of 12 and help make a grand ball on a small budget possible for any princess bride!
Udderly Unique Wedding Favors
I recently wrote a post on the origin and tradition of giving wedding favors. Originally, delicacies made of sugar were given in boxes to wedding guests. This was to symbolize the good luck of getting married, as well as pass on a piece of the newlywed’s good luck to their cherished wedding guests.
I love the concept and history of giving favors. Often, I am asked about ideas for unique wedding favors and my response is, ”A unique way to present a traditional favor is often the most memorable.” I say this because edible favors are the most popular among guests, followed by practical or useful favors. Honestly, favors are for your guests. You want them to enjoy them or take them home and cherish the memories induced by them. For example, if you’re having a Cinderella theme wedding, fill a carriage-shaped favor box with Jordan Almonds or give each guest a crown topped wine stopper. There are so many unique favors with witt or humor attached to them. Such as the “Owl Always Love You” scented soap, ”The Perfect Pair” pear shaped salt and pepper shakers, bookmarks, keychains, or cell phone charms, the list goes on. Check out the “Udderly In Love” measuring tape pictured here! Perhaps you’d like to make a lasting impresion on your guests by presenting them with a tag attached to their favor that gives the history, origin or meaning behind the tradition of giving wedding favors.
