If there is one place to go and browse thousands of available wedding invitation styles, then the Internet is it!  But it can also be overwhelming to see all the options.  Important – remember while browsing to look at the details of the invitation set and not just at colors and style.  Keep your situation in mind.  Will you be mailing the invitations?  Or is hand delivery the way that you want to go?

Your wedding invitations are special and you want them to suite your occasion – whether formal, casual or just plain fun!  Aside from design, be sure your invitations carry all the information your guest will require in order to be prepared properly for your big day!

As a new bride-to-be you’re probably constantly receiving advice from friends, family, magazines, professionals and even strangers…everyone telling you how they think you should spend this special milestone in your life.

I’m always very impressed if not often overwhelmed by all the available wedding accessories.  I’m not just talking about the many styles for your guest book, ring bearer pillow or bridal garter – I’m talking the “extras”.  From parasols to flip flops that spell out “Just Married” in the sand.

Sometimes a humorous wedding cake top just out of place at a classy, elegant or traditional wedding reception.  In this case, a humorous cake top may be the perfect addition to a bridal shower cake or the groom’s cake.

There are so many humorous and theme related wedding cake tops to choose from that there is sure to be one perfect for the bride or groom-to-be.  But please don’t get carried away!  If you are a friend or relative putting on the pre-wedding party it’s not a bad idea to get a general consensus on the cake or topper.  For instance, “naughty” cakes or a pregnant bride cake topper for the bachelorette party may not be the most-liked choice, especially by the guest of honor.

Most brides-to-be don’t need help when choosing their style of wedding accessories.  It’s like many other aspects of the wedding planning process, often times when you see the perfect one; you just know.  However, there are a few tips when it comes to wedding accessories.

Wedding accessories consist of items needed for the ceremony, such as flower girl baskets, ring bearer pillow, unity candle and may include bridal and wedding party jewelry.  Wedding accessories also refers to items needed at the reception, such as the bridal toss garter, a wedding cake top and knife server set.  Find a comprehensive list and decide what items you’ll have on your day.  Also, be sure to choose and order your wedding accessories three to six months in advance of your wedding day.  If an item is custom, handmade or will be personalized, be sure to allow a little extra time.

Contemplating the style of your ring bearer’s pillow?  Should it coordinate with your other wedding accessories or stand alone?  How old is your ring bearer and what is the style of your wedding?  Will it be difficult for you to convince the young man to march down the aisle with something frilly and girlie?

All ring bearer pillows serve the same purpose but there are thousands to choose from (assuming you don’t decide to make your own!).  Whether you have a “monogram” wedding or not, a monogram ring bearer pillow may be a nice choice that can be as simple or elaborate as you like.  Pictured are three examples of monogrammed ring bearer pillows.

One of the most popular DIY areas when it comes to weddings are invitations.  There are many reasons to make your own wedding invitations.  Whether the bride-to-be wants something original, personal, unique, handmade or just wants to save money.

Make your own wedding invitations really pop with glitter, confetti or sequins.  Dazzle potential guests with your charm or elegance by attaching  personal photos or pearls to the parchment paper.    Use shaped hole punches!  Personalized ribbon or layering the paper between the cover and printed page make a nice affect.  Many brides-to-be have used lace or satin material in their invitation packets.  This is especially nice for hand-delivered invitations.

A Flower Girl Basket Worth Holding On To

One thing I find a lot of bride’s don’t consider when choosing a flower girl basket is the flower girl that will be carrying out down the aisle.  Sure, it’s just for a short period down the aisle, but don’t forget about the time spent the rest of the day and especially the time and comfort of the wedding day photos.

A flower girl basket worth holding on to…shouldn’t be too large or awkward for the little girl that it is intended for.  One of the worst type of baskets I’ve seen are the type with flowers or prickly decorations going all around the handle.  Where is your poor flower girl suppose to put her hands?  And how can a four to eight year old be held responsible for holding onto something heavy or awkward for most of a day taht she should be having fun?

A Fairy Tale Wedding Theme in Spring

Red roses, live birds and nature were the setting for this fairy tale wedding theme.  The bride didn’t choose a particular fairy tale story for her theme.  Instead she included wedding accessories that pronounced “Happily Ever After” and went with an abundant amount of red and white roses, animal “friends” and lots of whimsy and character.

My favorite part about this fairy tale wedding theme was that she allowed her three flower girls to each choose their favorite fairy tale princess to dress up as.  Snow White, Belle and Cinderella were all at this Bride’s event!
