Wedding Decoration Ideas – Part I
For the best secrets when it comes to decorating for your wedding events talk with an experienced professional. Often times, a bridal consultant’s service may be decorating or hiring a decorater. Remember, not only is your wedding decor likely to show more elegantly by a professional but more importantly, will free you from the hassle and stress of doing it yourself! With that being said, enjoy the following do-it-yourself tips and wedding decoration ideas:
Mix and match combinations of balloons, lights, flowers, ribbon and tull for a magical, romantic ambiance. The trick is not to over-do it. Don’t combine all of these things in one centerpiece and don’t mix and match a lot of different colors. White lights wrapped in shimmering silver tull creates a shiny but subtle look. Pair with a white or neutral flower and one vibrant color, such as blue, purple, red, pink or orange. You want your wedding decoration to add to the atmosphere through subtle but effective methods. The wedding cake table offers an opportunity for gasp-worthy decorating with very little effort. See the wedding cake table pictured here.
Add charms, sparklers, ribbon, fern, fruit or sprigs to floral centerpieces, pew decorations, even the bridal bouquet. A figurine or favorite item that aligns with your theme and or colors can also be added. Many charms can be personalized with monograms, pictures, names and event date. Again, just one or a few pieces should be added and they should relate in style, color or theme. When it comes to the most brilliant wedding decoration ideas, less is usually more!
My Doggie Ring Bearer
Adding your own style to your wedding, wether tradition or modern, is sooo much broader than just wedding theme, style of accessories or decorations you choose. My sister is an avid animal lover with three dogs to compliment her three children. With two little nieces and a nephew, choosing a flower girl and ring bearer is not a difficult decision. However, we wanted to find a way to include the family pets! The most popular idea was to have the adorable trio trot down the aisle with the children.
They actually make little doggie ring bearer pillows! Leashes in your wedding theme or colors and even bandanas which have the most adorable or humorous sayings on them. These items provide for you to be able to include your best, loyal pet friend in more ways than just having them tied up on the grounds! Ring Bearer, Best Man, Maid of Honor – the skies the limit! Talk about adding personality to your special event!
A Perfect Unity Candle For The Perfect Unity
A unity candle set stands out at both the actual unity ceremony as well as lovely decor throughout your day. With styles, themes and types for every life situation you need only choose the one that fits. The unity candle ceremony is a beautiful presentation for both traditional couples as well as more modern families. It is an excellent way to involve all related parties and make them feel special in “their moment to shine”. A unity candle ceremony can involve mothers and fathers, children of both or either the bride and or groom.
You can personalize your unity candle set with your names and wedding date, or with child names for second or third marriages. Include your invitation or a favorite poem on the candle. There are beautiful candle vases that provide memorial to a loved one passed. If your wedding is a beach theme, you can present a unique vase full of sand art unity candle. Monograms, bows, butterflies, hearts and even Cinderella coach charms can adorn your symbol of unity. Be rest assured, an ideal unity candle set exists for for the perfect unity!
Cake Server Sets
Since your wedding cake is an important element to your wedding, so is choosing the cake server set. Not only will it shine in a glorious moment of tradition and ceremony at your reception, but it will become a cherished keepsake for long after the wedding day.
Most cake server sets provide the ability to have your names and wedding date engraved on the knife blade and server top. With handles allowing for intricate design options, you are sure to find a set that will coordinate with your wedding theme as well as your personal styles. What a fabulous momento to bring out for display or even to use on the cake at your anniversary celebrations for years to come!
Wedding Accessories
As a new princess bride-to-be, I didn’t realize how overwhelming the world of wedding accessories could be! There are so many details to enjoy in planing my wedding, my problem is choosing from the vast array of available accessories! Should I coordinate individual pieces or purchase a specific set? Ring bearer pillows and flower girl baskets, guest books and pen sets, what about a signature platter as my reception keepsake?
My bridal wedding accessories seem much easier to choose (once I had finally found the dress) ! My tiara and veil, bridal jewelry set and shoes must match my style dress. My “something blue” is in the jewels of the necklace I chose. That leaves my bridal garter, which has been a bit more difficult, but I think my guests will get a kick out of the beautiful embroidery in metalic silver and pink thread “And They Lived Happily Ever After” . . . on it!
Fairy Tale Wedding Cake Toppers
If you have decided on a fairy tale inspired wedding theme than the cake topper is definitely an opportunity to express it! A castle cake topper may be the ideal “happily ever after” symbol for a Princess Bride and her Prince. Or perhaps, a magnificent castle replica cake with towers and winding stairs. On the highest tower include a brushed silver monogram topper that will symbolize your unity.
Fairy tale wedding cake toppers can include traditional, modern or whimsical bride and groom figurines in many sizes, styles and colors. A pumpkin coach or horse-drawn carriage may set a top your cake just as well as a brilliant star, a pair of doves, a beautiful swan or a frog prince. Intertwined hearts are very passionate symbols available in glass or crystal. And we mustn’t overlook the vast array of photo frame or floral vase shapes that can be personalized with names, wedding date or special messages.
Wedding Supplies You Shouldn’t Skimp On!

In these tough economic times, new couples have good reason to want to cut wedding costs. It’s important to save money for those necessary expenditures like food, clothing, insurance, and rent or mortgage payments. When it comes to weddings, there are costs you can avoid and costs that are essential. For example, instead of hosting your wedding reception in a hall, rent out a park (weather permitting of course!). But you shouldn’t skimp on costs like bridal apparel (dresses, tiaras, shoes), wedding flowers, wedding guest books, and photography.
It’s important to preserve the memories of your wedding, but be creative when it comes to cutting costs. If you’re not a devout traditionalist there are a number of simple expenditures you can cut from a wedding. Just imagine what you can do with all the money you save!
What Is A Fairy Tale Wedding Theme?
Many think “Cinderella” when you mention having a fairy tale wedding theme, it is really not the only one to consider. I found this as I was searching for items for my upcoming fairy tale wedding. You can find some wonderful favors and accessories under such headings as elegant, whimsical, unique, garden and butterflies. I even saw chess piece favors, which immediately made me think of Alice In Wonderland.
So, as adorable as the “frog prince” and Cinderella slipper favors are, I have decided I will be creative and think outside the box with my fairy tale wedding theme. I am a huge fan of the fairy tale princess and Disney products offer invitations, favors and accessories with the popular Cinderella or Snow White, Belle, Ariel from the Little Mermaid (a personal favorite!) and of course, Mickey and Minnie.
Wedding Favors Time-line
With so many wedding favors to choose from, it can be as overwhelming as it is exciting to sort through them all! Finding just the “perfect” favors is a daunting task but it’s not your only concern when choosing your wedding favors.
Often times, brides will browse favors to see what’s available, only to have them be unavailable (out-of-stock or discontinued) when she’s ready to order! When is the right time to shop for wedding favors? First, you must have at least a good idea of how many guests you are buying for. Second, you don’t want to wait too close to the event for fear of your favors not arriving in time. Worse, having to pay the extra cost of rush shipping and still stress over whether they will arrive in time!
As a bride, you have enough to worry about – don’t make your wedding favors one more worry!
Wedding Cake Toppers – Traditional & Modern
No ones wedding would be complete without the traditional wedding cake which is served to the guests at a wedding reception after the ceremony. The cake is usually a multi-layered or tiered cake, and heavily decorated with icing.
A popular custom in the U.S. is a wedding cake topper. Wedding cake toppers are small models that sit on top of the cake, normally a representation of a bride and groom in formal wedding attire. Wedding toppers of today are often figures that indicate shared hobbies or other passions.
