Ring Bearer Pillow Ideas

coach-boxTraditionally, a pillow is carried down the aisle bearing the wedding rings, by either an adorable little prince or your most loyal furry friend. Perhaps you are looking for a unique way to tote the rings down the aisle? Maybe your little prince would prefer a more manly tote? Looking for something that coordinates with your wedding theme? Here goes . . .

A ring bearer pillow doesn’t have to be a pillow! Your imagination (or maybe the imagination of an 8 year old boy) is the limit. I’ve seen ring totes made of natural materials. Coordinating fabulously with an outdoor or “natural” ceremony. For a beach wedding, how about a large seashell for the ring bearer to carry? Pictured, is a romantic pumpkin coach box – just happens two rings fit snuggly inside! It’s also the perfect size for little hands and makes a great guest favor for a Cinderella themed event!

A Very Personal Wedding Cake Topper

cake-top-vaseWant flowers and personality on the top of your cake? An idea for a very personal wedding cake topper that goes one step beyond monograms, is a photo-topper!

With four sides, this clear, vase-like wedding cake topper can host a montage of photos. Perhaps a childhood picture of the groom on one side, with a picture of the young bride on another, an engagemnet photograph or picture of the two of you together in a memorable atmosphere? Then top off with fresh flowers!  Personally, one of my favorite-seen romantic uses for this unique cake top was a black and white engagemnet photo of the bride and groom on one side with the other sides containing black and white wedding day photos of their parents and grandparents. What a beautiful way to include family in your special occasion!

Thoughts On Wedding Favors

personalized-favorsPut some thought into the type of favors you would like to give your wedding guests. Favors are little memento’s of your day given in appreciation of their sharing it with you!  Most popular types of party favors are little gifts that compliment the theme of your day or practical favors that your guests can take home and use. Either option is a good one and the finishing touch is to personalize them with your names and wedding date.

Just remember, personalized wedding favors should be ordered several weeks in advance of your reception. When you pick up or receive your favors be sure to look over them right away. If any are broken or contain defects, you will want to let the company you ordered them from know right away. Also, leave time in your hectic wedding schedule to assemble favors if required.  Have a favor party – invite the bridal party, friends and family members together to assemble them - sure could be lots of fun!

Make Your Own Wedding Invitations

invitationsMany websites and books can provide free outlines for wedding invitations. You may write your own verse, but may wish to follow the general guidelines provided to make sure you include all necessary information with your invitations.  After you choose the appropriate wedding invitation type, then you can make your own wedding invitations. This is the fun part!

The possibilities, of course, are only limited by your imagination, creativity and resources. If your reason for making your invitations yourself is to save on cost, then be sure to do a little price shopping before choosing your supplies. The more intricate the design, the more time-consuming and costly to make. You’ll also want to keep in mind the cost of postage. Rates are based on weight and size.

Do you own a paper cutter or know someone who does?  This is a must-have item for professional-looking homemade invitations! Do you have any craft supplies on hand, such as ink stampers, or shape hole punchers? Don’t forget the ribbon!

Making Your Own Cake Topper

topperIt’s no surprise that weddings nowadays are extremely expensive. With people spending the equivalent of half a year’s salary just to tie the knot, it pays to cut corners wherever possible. Especially with everyone budgeting the way they are, a cost effective wedding is probably in the minds of many couples soon to wed. With that in mind, look into options like making your own wedding cake topper.

Even if you have a very specific idea in your mind for your wedding cake, you can still get what you want by having a homemade option. If you’re interested in fairy tale wedding cake toppers, for example, you can have that elegance and majesty with a floral bouquet wedding topper. Either pick the flowers fresh or go with silk flowers to ensure that they look their best. Pick flowers that mirror your wedding bouquet or the centerpiece bouquets, and arrange them so they cover the entirety of the top of the cake as well as several of the surrounding layers. Accent with silk butterflies or other decorations.

Depending on your fairytale wedding theme, style, colors, creativity and imagination the options for elegant wedding cakes, adorable mini cakes or fun cupcake toppers are virtually endless.

Sure, you can google fairy tale wedding cake toppers and get a lengthy list of wedding cake top suppliers, but creative princess brides make their own and imaginative brides design their own! Talk to your baker about your cake top design. A small shaped cake with fondent or icing can go a long way for the princess bride that wants a unique, memorable fairytale wedding. What about a mini frog prince cake sitting atop your wedding cake? Simply adorable! Easy to save and fun to pull out on your first year anniversary!

What do you have to have to complete a fairytale dream wedding? ”And They Lived Happily Ever After” wedding accessories of course!  Inspired by every fairytale story that ends with the princess riding off into the sunset with her prince, a happily ever after dream come true.

There are many individual wedding accessories available as well as complete theme collections. Most are imprinted with a “Happily Ever After” or variation of it. My favorite “Happily Ever After” wedding collection is the “Fairy Tale Dreams Collection” pictured above, containing everything you need for your fairytale wedding ceremony and reception from the guest book and pen, to the ring bearer’s pillow and flower girl’s basket to the unity candles, bridal garter and castle cake top. These items are made of delicate satin, embellished with glittering jewels and a Cinderella slipper charm, each is embroidered with metallic thread that proudly states; “And they lived Happily ever after . . .”
